ADayton jaw coupling inserts are used for dampening shock & vibrations between coupling hubs to accommodate small amount of misalignment including angular, parallel and axial. The complete assembly requires two jaw hubs and a spider for transmitting higher torque and prevent misalignment between the connecting shafts. These Buna-N inserts provide excellent oil and impact resistance and are capable of withstanding temperatures up to 212 degrees F. Choose from an extensive range of these jaw coupling inserts, available in lengths ranging from 0.433 to 0.866 inches.

ADayton spider inserts are used in conjunction with metal jaw couplings for uniform power transmission while maintaining their structure and position. These hytrel spider inserts offer excellent oil and impact resistance and are capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from -60 to 70 degrees F. The complete assembly comprises two jaw hubs and a spider for transmitting higher torque and preventing misalignment (angular & parallel) between the connecting shafts. Choose from an array of these jaw coupling spiders, available in lengths ranging between 0.433 & 0.866 inches.
ARuland Manufacturing curved jaw coupling spiders are designed to dampen shocks and accommodate misalignment (angular, parallel & axial) between coupling hubs. The spider couplings fit between two coupling hubs for a secure connection. They are made from polyurethane, do not require lubrication and can hold up against dirt, sand, grease, oil & moisture. Lovejoy snap wrap spider couplings provide shaft-to-shaft connection for power transmission and accommodating parallel & angular misalignment in industrial machinery, electric motors & compressors. These jaw couplings feature radially removable elastomeric cushions for ease-of-maintenance and no metal to metal contact for wear minimisation. SOX (NBR) rubber / urethane construction provides resistance against oil, sand, dirt, grease & moisture while ensuring fail-safe operation, even upon elastomeric cushion failure. These snap wrap spidersare capable of delivering torque up to 3510 inch-lb and the collar configuration of these snap wrap spiders can achieve the same speed as standard couplings since the collar is attached to one hub. Jaw coupling spiders are used for torque transmission between two shafts and protecting components from damage by dampening vibrations & shocks. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of reliable jaw coupling spiders from brands such as Boston Gear, Dayton, Lovejoy, Lisle and TB Wood's. Lovejoy L type spiders are designed to accommodate angular and parallel shaft misalignment. These spiders feature urethane, hytrel, bronze or SOX (NBR) rubber construction ensuring excellent abrasion resistance and protection against dirt, oil, sand, grease & moisture. They prevent metal to metal contact, ensuring in less internal wear and deliver torque up to 704 Nm. TB Wood’s urethane jaw coupling inserts are designed for adjusting a maximum of 0.015 inch parallel and 1 degree angular misalignments. These inserts provide 1.5 times higher torque than Buna N inserts, but with reduced vibration damping. They are capable of being operated at temperatures ranging between -30 and 160 degrees F. These jaw coupling spiders are available in heights ranging from 0.44 to 5 inches on Raptor Supplies.
The selection of a jaw coupling spider depends on the torque capacity, shaft size, operating temperature and chemical compatibility of the material with the fluids or gases being transferred.
