An axial misalignment is a state where the shafts are parallel to each other. When fully extended, their ends do not meet, thus creating a floating effect.
The U-joint spiders have the shape of a cross (with four arms) that connect the yokes, allowing for angular misalignment and shaft separation. The spider distributes the load evenly across the joint, reducing the risk of damage.
Precision-honed bore refers to the process of honing intended to perfect bore geometry and size by removing a minimal metal layer. It also generates a smooth pattern finish for optimum lubricant retention and minimises friction and wear.
