The amount of power you need will determine the appropriate size of generator for you. Add the wattage of all the devices you intend to power to arrive at this conclusion.
Store your generator in a clean & dry place away from moisture and dust. You can also add a fuel stabiliser to the fuel tank and run the generator for a few minutes to circulate the stabiliser through the engine before storing it.
Their regular maintenance involves checking the oil level, changing the oil & air filter regularly, inspecting the spark plug and cleaning the carburettor & fuel system.
A portable generator runs at a constant speed and produces AC power that is converted to DC power, while an inverter generator uses a variable-speed engine to produce AC power that is then converted to DC and back to AC power using electronic circuitry.
