Electric winches are motor-operated portable devices used to lift, pull or position heavy loads using a wire rope wound around a rotating drum. They can pull loads horizontally or lift and lower them vertically. These portable electric winches ensure better load control and can position loads more accurately than manual winches. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of Dayton, Thern, StrongArm, Superwinch and WARN winches in different power ratings and gear types.
Electric winches are offered in different sizes, ranging from light-duty variants for pulling of loads up to 5000 lb to heavy-duty commercial models that can pull over 10000 lb of load. These winches are also available in wireless models that can be controlled using a remote at a safe distance from the object.
Certain power winches feature a brake mechanism which allows the winch to hold the load in position when it is not operating, to ensure load stability and safety.
The cable / rope on an electric winch should be replaced when it shows signs of wear and damage, such as fraying or kinking.
Regular maintenance is needed to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the winch. This includes checking and tightening connections, lubricating moving parts and inspecting cables or ropes for wear or damage.
